The Georgia Public Safety Memorial

Explorers giving a silent prayer for the officers that have given their life in the line of duty.

What the Explorers are:

  • Traffic and Crowd Control
  • Crime Prevention / Public Relations
  • Ride - Along Program
  • Social Contacts
  • Attend Local Conferences / Academies

 

What the Explorers are not:

Explorers are not Police Officers. They have no police authority. Explorers duties are strictly supportive and auxiliary in nature. Explorer status does not guarantee employment into a police department. Should an Explorer desire to become a Police Officer upon attaining the required age, he/she must meet the same requirements as anyone else.

Exploring is Learning for Life's career education program for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) or 14 through 21 years old. Adults are selected by the participating organization for involvement in the program. Color, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic background, economic status, and citizenship are not criteria for participation.
